Dinner and a movie, the real costs for in home and outside

Today I am going to explore our Options and costs for Having Dinner and watching a Movie. I will compare the average cost of a movie ticket and dinner for 4 people that go out of the home and those that stay in the home. We will discuss the value behind both options and the negatives behind both options. This way, we will know which is, a better fit for our Family’s needs and budgets.  Please stick around and learn with me.

The Theater I used for my research is a Theater that has numerous chains across the Globe, AMC theaters. My Findings showed that You pay on average $12 per ticket. Although at my local theater we pay $13.69 for people over 12. This can become quite costly for a large Family. I have 4 people in my Family (2 Adults and 2 Teenagers). When I added it up, it was going to cost me $54.76 just for Tickets. Grand total for 2 Adults and 2 Teens that includes; tickets, 1 large popcorn, and 3 large drinks is $82.72.

Wow! That is a lot of money for one outing to the Theater! So, I got to thinking about how to have the same type of experience, with a way lower price tag. Here is what I came up with.

Last Updated On: Apr 7, 2019 By Jyoti Chauhan

Full disclosure; I have not verified all the sites she lists in her Article. https://www.updateland.com/best-free-movie-streaming-sites-no-sign-up/

I have not Included Youtube on these lists because most of their movies cost per view. Although you can find some movies, shows, documentaries, and songs on the site.

What about the Streaming services?

When most of us think of Streaming Services we think of; Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and Youtube. These are the ones that are utilized/Advertised the most. For my Research I am going to compare the prices of the Top 2, Netflix and Hulu.

Netflix has 3 Plans available

The basic non-HD plan is $9.00 a month

Netflix’s most popular plan is $13.00 a month for two HD streams.

The premium plan allowing four simultaneous 4K streams $16.00 per month.

The Best Live TV Streaming Services for Cord-Cutters

In ascending order of monthly price, the major multichannel live TV streaming services available today are:

  • AT&T Watch TV ($15 a month or free with certain AT&T wireless plans)
  • Philo ($16 a month)
  • Sling TV ($25 a month)
  • YouTube TV ($40 a month)
  • Hulu With Live TV ($45 a month)
  • PlayStation Vue ($45 a month)
  • Fubo TV ($45 a month)
  • DirecTV Now ($50 a month)

Yes, it’s a big list. But relax, we’ll break it down for you. And remember that each one has a free trial and no contracts, so trying (and canceling) are painless.

Each offers a different mix of channels, so your first step should be choosing a service that carries your “can’t miss” channels and shows. And some of the most important channels are locals, namely ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. Not every service offers all of them in every area.

For More information on Live streaming channels, I urge you to visit their site at the following Link. https://www.cnet.com/news/best-live-tv-streaming-services-for-cord-cutters/

So, as you can see, it is Cheaper in the long run to sign-up for a streaming service than it is to go to the movies. I hope that you have enjoyed this post and have learned something new from it. If you found this Post to be useful, please feel free to subscribe to and Share my page.
